Below are two examples from Dr. Memory’s™ Animated States and Capitals CD-ROM

You see an ark, like Noah’s ark, with a can in front of it. The ark is holding a saw in its hand. The ark, the can and the saw make up the tangible picture for the state of Arkansas. Ark – can – saw sounds like Arkansas. You can now see an Arkansas as easily as you can see a tiger or a lion in your mind. Arkansas is no longer an intangible word. It has its own identity. It has been changed from a nothing to a something from a tangible standpoint. If you look at the picture once again you will notice that the can is being used as a holding place, so the ark can saw a little rock in half. The capital of Little Rock is also part of the picture. As a result of this picture and its explanation, for the rest of your life, like it or not, every time you think of Arkansas this picture will automatically pop into your mind, and you will see an Arkansas and the capital of Little Rock. There is no way you can stop it, because it happens automatically. That process was built into all of our brains at birth. You have now learned Arkansas and Little Rock in the same way you learned a horse, cow and monkey; by seeing a tangible picture that was automatically registered in your mind.

New York – Albany

Below you see a man standing in front of a pair of oxen. The man is putting a New Yoke on the oxen. You can see the New tag attached to the Yoke. New Yoke sounds like the state of New York, and the New Yoke will enable you to picture the state of New York. The oxen are very skinny as you can see. As a matter of fact, the oxen are All Bony. You can see their bones and the words All Bony on one of the oxen. The words All Bony will enable you to picture the capital of New York, which is Albany.
